On the return trip in Sport mode, which turns the instrument cluster red compared to the Eco’s blue background, the Escape averaged about 36 mpg with no electric miles the only fuel-saving function in Sport mode is regen braking. You really have to push the throttle to the floor to get Eco mode going. It recaptured enough energy to provide nine miles of all-electric power.Įco mode consistently returned exceptional fuel economy in exchange for an almost dead throttle pedal feel. This typical town-to-town parenting commute included no highway driving, but there were a few long stretches of steady 35 mph driving. The same carpet we had been using for the back in our previous CMax fit well. We have dogs and the back seats fold down almost flat and if you slide them fully forward, they come right up to the front seats (had to remove the back head rests) so there is no gap for the dogs to slide into. It was nice to be able to get the AWD option on the hybrid too.

Really like the pop up dash display of speed, Android auto navigation. It has dropped now on shorter trips since the weather has gotten colder and the engine runs longer after starting up. Could monitor how we were doing using with 'This Trip' display. On the first highway trip, we got over 40 MPG if I kept the speed down to 62 MPH. We are getting great mileage with 2020 hybrid. In November we gave up on waiting and got a 2020 AWD Titanium Hybrid with opening panoramic glass roof and the spare tire.
